Bush immortalizes his legacy in two simple words: So What?

Somebody else is talking about G.W.’s legacy – and if you missed it on World News last night, you’ve got to read this transcript of Martha Raddatz’s interview with him. His admission to Raddatz that al Qaeda wasn’t in Iraq until after the U.S. invaded that country kept me up last night with a sick-to-my-stomach kind of anger.

He sums up his own legacy, the Bush legacy, in two simple words: So what??

I made my thoughts clear on this mofo back in 2006 — you can read about it in my tiny treatise on the difference between disloyalty and dissent — the only column the Pelican Press ever refused to run in my Reality Chick column.

  1. History years later will truly sum up The Bush years and who knows what that will be but we can all guess. His comments to Martha Raddatz are no surprise so why be shocked and angry about it.It is not worth it at this point and I voted for him twice and am quite dissappointed in his last several years for sure.I guess my philosophy voting for the lesser of two evils did not work but you can’t look back.We shall see how Obama does with this mess.
Perhaps we can hear another side to ugly politics … how about your feelings about the current situation in Ill. and that wonderful Governor? You can also use hair jokes I won’t be offended..

Maybe you can write about what qualifies Carolyn Kennedy to be a United States Senator other than the fact she’s a Kennedy.

I trust you’ll use the same yard stick to judge her quallifications as the one you used to villify Gov Sara Palin. I look forward to that blog.

Honestly did he really say “So What” to describe his legacy or “So What” regarding his critics??.

  4. I’m certain that Mary would be happy to post a blog, but the fact is, Palin doesn’t deserve the energy it takes to put something in print. Palin was a joke and not due to the media, she did it on her own. Can you even fathom the idea of her being President had McCain won the election and something happened to him?! The only stage (and I apologize in advance if I offend anyone), the only stage that Palin is fit to stand on, would be one with a pole, lights and a bunch of idiots with dollar bills in their hands. So sad… but yet so true.

Dan, to start, please remember that blowing out my candle does not make yours burn any brighter

Quid pro quo, quid pro quo. First Dan I aske if shewould be jugded by the same yardstick. i got my answer loud and clear. however, you must feel a tad inhibited given your rant regarding Gov Palin. Kind of hard to fire back when you got no amo.

BTW Dan I did something you are unable or incapable to honestly do I check out her qualifications:

She was born a Kennedy; -THATS BIG
    Attended Harvard; -I’m impressed
Passed the bar; -A feat most Kennedys have a problem doing especially during Happy Hour
    Wrote 3 books; – Stunning
Raised three children; No small feat given the cost of day care
And championed the reform of New York public schools – but would not and did not send her children to those same schools NIMBY.
And her final MOST qualifying act as of late she has dropped her married name of Schlossberg -she must have stole that page out of Hillary’s playbook.

Her name is her qualification is her only qualification. Wake up the Kennedy name is synonymous with entitlement

Here’s a newsflash for you Dan …JFK, Bobby or John-John aren’t walking through that door to save the Democratic party and if Caroline Kennedy given her credentials is the best the Democratic Party has to offer enjoy the moment. New york after all It’s a Blue State I expect nothing more.

Dan to give in and respond to your pedestrian and simplistic comments regarding Gov Palin’s qualifications versus that of a Kennedy is elementary. Gov Palin ran and was elected to office, She was elected to the City Councilor, Office of Mayor, Governor in real elections. She was not appointed to office because her surname is KENNEDY.

Your comment regarding the stripper pole was shallow I hope you don’ have any daughters given your attitude. Quite frankly, I’ve stepped in deeper puddles.

Your approval and support of Caroline Kennedy being selected to serve as a U.S. Senator is hypocrisy at the highest level …..It is obvious there are no mirrors in your house.

It’s not personal Dan, I’m just trying to enlighten someone the less informed

    Have a nice day

  6. Uh…. excuse me, but where was the name Carolyn Kennedy even mentioned in Mary’s blog? Also, please, don’t even make an effort at compairing Kennedy with Palin, that would be like compairing Bush to Clinton. I only wish everyone would just face the facts and that’s Bush will go down in history as the worst president this country’s ever had, Obama did win the election and that McCain’s demise was the fact he chose Palin as his running mate – a very poor choice. He should have chosen Colin Powel.

  7. Hey Dan,
I certainly don’t want to speak on behalf of Blue State but this time I think you missed the point.I think the only reason he brought up Carolyn Kennedy as I suggested to MC that we hear views on the Dems once in awhile hence I mentioned that biggest controversy going with the Gov.of Ill.We know most folks hate Bush here but sometimes I feel like I am listening to CNN or NBC on ths blog. There are other views and the Dems screwup too.I just suggested to MC that fact.
I agree that McCain should have picked someone else like Romney who would have had great input with this economic disaster.Colin Powell and McCain ,while friends, really did not agree on many issues so he was gone and his support went to Obama.Enough we shall see what Obama does with this mess and I believe we all wish him well as we are big doodoo!

  8. I say the guy should have hit the moron in the head with the shoe.
This is why Secret Service waited to do anything; they wanted to give the guy a second chance…. darn, he missed!

  9. Congratulations goes to Senator Obama on his being picked the 2008 “Man of the year award” by Time Magazine. Could not have picked a better man.

NOTICE TO ALL MORE SPECIFICALLY DAN

I’ll donate $1000 to MC2’s charity if you can write a cogent response outlining Kennedy’s qualifications to be an U.S. Senator and the readers and MC can vote if it is convincing. Dan, take as long as you need say the 22nd.

Twenty-five words or more neatness counts: What QuALIFICATIONS does Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg have to be named U.S. Senator? Part two if possible use two same “objective standards” and criteria to answer this question that you and all the other Democrats used to evaluate Gov Pailin as a vice presidential candidate. Remember those?? Any questions? ……. You may begin

This doesn’t cost you any money Dan and you can do the charity some good and shut me up which alot of people would love to do ask Perkins and Steve. Be the guy Dan, Go for it Dan, you gotta at least try after all it’s for the children.

Remember where you sit is where you stand

    I await your reply Dan

MC you have my word on this I’ll write the check but he can’t do it. If he fails to acknowledge my challenge within 24 hours please send him an e-mail notifying him. I don’t want him to have any excuses.

P.S. Dan, Crate and Barrel is having a two for one sale on mirrors …….you’ll need two when this is over.

  11. Which one …Bush or Maliki?:-)

  12. Obama will be the greatest president since Clinton
and man, I can’t wait till I have some time to ask uh…. Mr. hostage about Bush, slipping into the auto bailout bill a clause to make certain all the Big Three CEO’s get their bonuses this year – paid for by yours truly: “Us Taxpayers”. This is the same greed that got this country in the mess we’re in. Can’t wait till I have time to get my facts together, get that Hostage,> facts! Not the sublime has you consistently dish out. And you know what; I’ll take Caroline Kennedy’s experience over Palins any day of the week my man….

Tick tock tick tock…………..Maybe Obama’s chicken has gone home to roost.

Mayor Bloomberg of NYC and former Secretary of HUD Andrew Cuomo aren’t as qualified as a Kennedy

  14. You know hostage, I’m not even going to touch this one. To be perfectly honest, I’m not smart enough to know what the qualifications are for the Senate seat. Hey, I’m being honest here and hostage, your wrong, no one wants to see you shut up. It’s diversity, whether it be poitical, religion, et.. that makes blogs fun and a great tool at epressing one’s opinions. Hostage, what I’m upset with Bush for, is I’ve been really staying with the Auto bailout bill Bush has put before the Senate and before he presented it, he made certain there was a clause in it that made sure all the Big Three CEO’s will get their bonuses. Hostage, it’s greed like this that helped put us in this mess in the first place. Also hostage, Bush knew about the warning signs from Buffett that the banks werw in dire trouble and ignored the warnings.
Ok hostage, you won as I don’t know squat about Caroline but have been doing a lot of research into Gov. Palin an dit’s not from Google, or Yahoo, but from great Government resources and it’s not pretty.
I’l end with this hostage; I’m pretty sick of politics right now and have a bad taste in my mouth from all the corruption going on. My only hope is when they continue to bail out Wall Street, what about Main St. Hostage, I work at the Call Center for Sarasota County and hostage if you only heard toe calls for help we’ve been getting from residents losing their homes, calling asking where to get food for their next meal. Hostage, these calls aren’t from the homeless, but from every walks of life. Hostage, the next call could be from you or Steve or worse, I could get my pink slip tomorrow. Hostage, why is Washington ignoring the cries for help from these people, and at the same token, why are we still in Iraq, spending billions of dollars a month when hundreds of thousands of Americans are becoming homeless every day? Hostage, hundreds of thousands each day are losing their health care because the’ve lost their jobs. Hostage and you can test me on this, if you contact Dell for customer service for your computer, you have to pay $20.00 per month to speak to an American. Contact a customer service rep. for your Cell phone provider, for your master card or visa. Hostage, this is what’s wrong with this country and it’s only going to get worse.
Hostage, never mind at what anyone else thinks, I appreciate your thoughts and views.
Take care and going to call it a nite.
    Respectfully, Dan

  15. I am speechless for once and Hostage I never get tired of your name calling..Dan keep up the good fight and Perkins you don’t need my advice.Enjoy everyone:-)
