Update to Cat Depot Saves Pennsylvania Kitties story

One of the greatest things about doing this blog is when I hear about people helping each other because of connections they make or hear about here on this site. We’ve had people donating to All Faiths Food Bank — to the tune of thousands of dollars. We’ve had readers in other states giving me advice and following up on Tony the Tiger. We’ve had local doctors trying to help me get a stray kitty cat into a good home. And now, one of my readers read a blog last week, and took action about the Pennsylvania cats rescued by Sarasota’s Cat Depot story I posted and look, now I’ve received a really super nice blog comment below from the folks at Cat Depot to round the story out.

MC, thank you for putting the Cat Depot rescue information on your blog. We just received the donation from Dan and he mentioned your name! Many thanks to Dan for helping the cats and kittens.

To date, Cat Depot has had 450+ adoptions so we are right on target for reaching our goal of 1,000 in 2010.

Update: 3 of the PA cats have been adopted and the rest are waiting for happy forever homes! You can see all their adorable photos at http://www.catdepot.org.

Thank you everyone,
Lynn Rasys
Volunteer and Project Manager, Cat Depot

So, now that means the Phillie 12 is down to the Phillie Nine (sounds like a baseball team now) — so if you can find a place in your heart and home for a little kitty — visit www.catdepot.org to see photos of available cats or learn more.

Here are a couple of photos of the Phillie Nine

GIGANTIC SHOUT OUT OF THANKS TO DAN FOR READING MY LITTLE BLOG AND THEN DOING SOMETHING TO HELP! Not everybody can, of course, but even just helping to spread the word is taking action, so feel free to forward the link to this blog to anybody who might want to help these little felines out.

  1. Say Mary, just glad to have been able to help.
Had you not brought this to the readers attention, I would never hanve known about the “Sarasota 12”. Keep up the amazing work of getting the info. out there. Just by spreading the word, truly helps those in need; especially during these economicaly challenging times we are all facing. Even if people cannot help financially, by spreading the word, will make it to someone who can. Everyone’s efforts contribute to the cause and make it a success.
    Great job!
    Your friend and supporter.
